Formerly a top fashion model at 5'10'' tall. Carey was popular with top American designers, including Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. In 1979 in 1979, the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists voted the father of her Scientist of the Year. Carey went to all over the world due to her father's work. Following her graduation from the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs, she began modeling on the side. This caught the eye of a Ford Model Agency New York. The model briefly studied and lived in Paris prior to returning to New York. Her modeling and academic career rocketed and she was featured on Glamour's, Vogue's as well as many other covers of magazines. Between her modelling assignments, she studied the study of literature at New York University. As she studied acting in the Neighborhood Playhouse, New York, her enthusiasm for acting grew. Her acting debut was an appearance alongside Robin Williams in the 1986 film "Club Pardise. She is a rock climber, skiing, and windsurfing.
